Parliament will discuss Government’s decree for enacting the Emergency Powers Act

On March 16th, after officially stating the country is now under emergency conditions, the government proposed their plan for further measures to curtail the COVID-19 in Finland.

The Government, along with relevant public authorities, will enact all decisions and recommendations according to the Emergency powers act, the Communicable diseases act, and other applicable legislation.

Changes to the Plenary Sessions

The Parliament will prepare for two sessions on Tuesday 17.3. The second session of the day, planned to begin at 5 pm, will include the Government Decree for Emergency powers act and all relevant decrees for implementation. The government will officially propose these in their own session earlier the same day.

The parliamentary groups will have the possibility for a meeting during a break between the two plenary sessions.
