Parliament approved the second supplementary budget for 2022

​On 28 June, Parliament approved the second supplementary budget for 2022 in accordance with the Finance Committee report. Three protests were attached to the committee report.

The second supplementary budget is exceptionally large due to budgetary needs created by Russian invasion of Ukraine such as strengthening defence capabilities and improving security of supply. The second supplementary budget increases the Government's need for net borrowing by EUR 1.3 billion.

In connection with the discussion on the matter, MP Timo Heinonen (National Coalition Party Parliamentary Group) expressed a vote of no confidence in the Government, supported by MP Matias Marttinen (National Coalition Party Parliamentary Group) and MP Ville Vähämäki (Finn Party Parliamentary Group), supported by MP Jani Mäkelä (Finns Party Parliamentary Group). Parliament voted in favour of the government and decided by a vote of 85-63 that the Government enjoys the confidence of Parliament.
