The investigation into the cyber attack on the Finnish Parliament is progressing

Earlier today, the Finnish Security and Intelligence Agency (Supo) informed that it has identified the cyber attack against the Finnish Parliament last autumn.

Speaker of the House Anu Vehviläinen considers it important that the serious attack on Parliament has been traced.

- The National Bureau of Investigation will continue the pretrial investigation. When the investigated criminal offenses are aggravated espionage, aggravated computer break-in and aggravated message interception everyone understands how serious offenses we are dealing with. This type of activity is always an attack against our democracy and Finnish society.

Cyber espionage is actively targeted at parliaments. Parliament maintains its constant preparedness to repel cyber attacks by developing its cyber security competence in close cooperation with national security authorities.
