The collection policy of the Library is to provide open access to all citizens. It serves not only the Finnish Parliament but also everyone in search of information about the Parliament, law and society.
The Library acquires publications, purchases user rights to online materials and collates information on online materials with free access. The most important tools for locating materials are Selma collection database and the library website.
The Printed Materials Collection contains literature on the Parliament, law and the social and political sciences.
The collection includes radio and television programme archives, digitised periodicals and newspapers papers, and website archives.
The Library of Parliament offers electronic materials and reference and full-text databases.
