The database provides access to a comprehensive, scientific and peer-reviewed selection of journals. The material is multidisciplinary and multilingual. The journals in this critically compiled collection are openly available based on the Open Access principles. The journals can be browsed by subject area, and topic-specific searches can be carried out for some.
The service includes Finnish and Swedish-language legislation, preparatory documents, government proposals, treaties, EU legislation and case law. Some of the specialist articles in the Edilex law library's collection can also be found in the
Selma database (Journal / Article). The journals available include: Defensor Legis, JFT, Lakimies, Oikeus, Oikeustieto (discontinued in 2016), Ympäristöjuridiikka, Helsinki Law Review and Acta Legis Turkuensia. In addition, the service contains legal yearbooks, material written by specialists and news items on law.
Furthermore, it includes online books of the online libraries of Edita and the Chamber of Commerce. New works and updated editions are automatically added to these digital libraries. The materials are available through the legal information service Edilex, and Edilex searches also cover the contents of the books.
The Finnish Parliamentary Glossary contains the key terminology pertaining to Parliament, its operations, the organisation and the operating environment. Additionally, it includes terms connected to the parliamentary elections, legislation, the state budget and the handling of EU affairs. The Finnish Parliamentary Glossary contains approximately 600 terms. The term equivalents, definitions and explanations are available in Finnish, Swedish and English. In addition, just the term equivalents are available in the following languages: Northern Sámi, Inari Sámi, English, German, French, Spanish, Russian and Estonian.
A collection of e-books in the Ellibs service. The works can also be found in the
Selma database. Before use, a user must create Ellibs user ID and download Adobe Digital Editions. The material must be downloaded/borrowed through Parliament's local area network.

Through ePress, you can read digital versions of newspapers. The collection currently provides access to the following newspapers: Etelä-Suomen Sanomat, Hämeen Sanomat, Turun Sanomat, Vasabladet, Mediuutiset and Suomen Kuvalehti.

In addition, the service has sections on case law and treaties. Finlex is a public and free internet service for legal material, owned by the Ministry of Justice.
This service provides access to more than 100 Finnish scientific journals. Most of them are freely available. The articles can also be found via Selma's “Finnish Articles” tab.
Juno contains Swedish legislation and related comments, case law, government proposals and other preparatory material. Additionally, the service includes decisions made by the Ombudsman and the Chancellor of Justice, as well as material from the authorities. The service can only be accessed on the client computers at the library.
This collection includes brief biographies of families and individuals who have influenced Finnish history, as well as articles with extensive biographical information. Some of the biography materials are available for free. In addition to that, the Library of Parliament has also acquired the paid material.
The glossary of legislation maintained by the Government contains key legal terms and phrases in Finnish and partly in Swedish, as well as recommendations for their English equivalents.

Oxford University Press Open Access Books
More than 300 openly available scientific publications can be accessed through the collection. The material is multidisciplinary and contains e-books in the fields of social science, politics and history. The material can be browsed via Selma search service’s “International e-materials search”.
The service provides Finnish and foreign digital newspapers, including HBL, Västra Nyland, Corriere della Sera, Le Figaro, The Guardian, Neue Zürcher Zeitung, El Pais, Politiken, Svenska Dagbladet and The Washington Post. It also has magazines, such as Forbes, Foreign Affairs and Newsweek. The available selection may change during a subscription period.
The Suomen Laki database contains all Finnish legislation currently in force. Additionally, it also includes some European Union legislation, government proposals from 1973 onwards, case law, tax agreements, and references to legal journals and books.
The calendar lists the senior officials of state agencies and institutions in Finnish and Swedish, as well as contract employees in leadership positions.
Contains publications published in the ministries' publications series in PDF format since the beginning of 2016, and some publications that are older than this. The material is also accessible through the Institutional Repository for the Government
(Valto) tab in the Selma database. The basic search in the
