The inter-parliamentary meetings of the Finnish Presidency of the EU were attended by a total of 1,200 MPs

Finland held the Presidency of the Council of the EU between 1 July and 31 December 2019. During this period, Eduskunta, the Parliament of Finland organised seven inter-parliamentary meetings in Helsinki. One meeting was organised in Brussels together with the LIBE Committee of the European Parliament.

In addition to the established meetings of the Presidencies, the special committees of the Finnish Parliament organised meetings on asylum and immigration, climate change and agriculture.

The biggest meeting was COSAC, the conference of the committees of Member State parliaments dealing with EU affairs, as well as of representatives of the European Parliament, which was held in Helsinki at the beginning of December.

The inter-parliamentary meetings of the Presidency were attended by a total of around 1,200 MPs.

The meeting of the Secretaries General of the EU Parliaments and the Conference of Speakers of the EU Parliaments will be held in Helsinki in spring 2020.
